Open Door International is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation with a mission to help returned missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from underdeveloped countries, become self-reliant by providing safe, strategically located temporary housing and access to mentoring resources in education, career, and leadership development.

What We Provide

Safe Housing

We provide safe and comfortable housing to recently returned missionaries in cities where employment and educational opportunities are greater.

Opportunities

We partner with local employment, educational agencies, and fellow nonprofits in providing candidates with opportunities that would be out of their reach otherwise.

Faith-centered Home

Residents continue their service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, developing spiritually in a home with other returned missionaries striving to live the gospel.

Our Vision

The vision of Open Door International is to help as many returned missionaries in as many countries as our resources will allow. Currently Open Door is operating two homes in Phnom Phen Cambodia with plans to expand soon into the Philippines. Other countries, such as West Africa and Guatemala are under consideration. Returned missionaries who benefit from an Open Door experience will become temporally and spiritually self-reliant and be a source of leadership in the Church and in their communities.
